When you come to Norway on an educational visa, then you are not given a normal work permit. On the contrary, you can apply for a part time job permit (part time job means that you can work not more than 20 hours during the week and during the holidays you can work full time). For this purpose, it is necessary that the educational institute should confirm that this will not impact your studies in any negative way. Your life partner can also apply for such a work permit.
The following additional documents are required for applying for a work permit.
- Job offer letter from the Norwegian company.
- Record of mutual correspondence with the company owner or employer.
- Documents and certificates showing previous work experience.
Just like study visa, you will need to take an appointment with the embassy and then personally submit the documents, where you will be interviewed extempore. The fee for the work permit is Kr. 1100. From educational degrees to all other documents, take all original papers with you. After the interview the case will be forwarded to the Norwegian Department of Immigration. After the file has been received back from the embassy you will be informed of the decision about the visa via postal mail and to receive your passport from the embassy.
