UK Study Visa Faqs (Important Questions and their Answers)
Q: Am I to apply for a visa according to the new points based system or the previous visa application procedure?
A: Britain has been unable to initiate the new points based system in Pakistan, therefore, you will have to submit your visa application as per the old visa form submission procedure.
Q: What is the ‘Sponsorship’ for study visa?
A: The academic institute in which you are taking admission will issue a visa letter for you. This letter indicates that the college/university agrees to provide you admission in the institute. This is called ‘sponsorship’.
Q: What is the ‘Course to prepare for study’?
A: Course to prepare for study is a short term course offered prior to the original long term course. This course will make you skilled in the British environment and language, which is the English language. This course may either be offered prior to or with the specific long term course.
Q: Can I stay in Britain even after the academic course has ended?
A: Yes! If you have completed a course with a duration of 1 year or more, then you can stay in Britain for another 4 months, after the course has elapsed. In the event of completing a course that is less than a year in duration you can stay for 2 months after the course has elapsed.
Q: What is the approximate financial expense of studying in Britain?
A: If you are undertaking a course in London, which is of a duration of 9 months or more, then the fee for the first year of the course, apart from boarding, lodging, food and other expenses, will be £7200. Whereas if you are studying outside of London then the same scenario will cost you £5400.
Q: What is the fee for student visa?
A: In the event of applying from Pakistan it is £145.
Q: Can I work during my education?
A: Yes, you can work 20 hours a week while you are studying in Britain. During vacations you can work full time.
