In Kuwait too, you need a residence visa. You start with
an offer from an employer who can sponsor your visa. A Work
Permit for Kuwait is to be obtained by the employer from the
Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour. A private sector employer
must then obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Ministry
of the Interior. The employer will send a copy of the work permit
to you, which you must take to the Kuwaiti embassy to obtain
an entry visa. If you are on a visit visa to Kuwait when you
accept employment, then once the work permit and NOC are ready,
you must leave Kuwait and return on the entry visa the sponsor
obtains for you. This can be a short round trip to Bahrain by
air for the day.
To get a residence permit, you need to fill a form issued by
the Ministry of the Interior and get it signed by your sponsor.
You will be fingerprinted and will have to undergo a medical
examination. If you are found to have serious infectious diseases,
you will not be allowed to stay in the country. Once you get
a residence permit, you are required to register for a Civil
ID card, which you need to carry with you at all times.
